How to say your e-mail address in Spanish

How can you say an e-mail address in Spanish?

First of all we need to know what the word is for e-mail in Spanish and how to ask for someone’s e-mail.

How to ask for someone’s e-mail address

If you are interested in asking for someone else’s e-mail you can simply ask:

  • ¿Cuál es tu correo electrónico?
  • ¿Cuál es tu correo?
  • ¿Cuál es tu email?

Correo electronico is a bit long to say which is why sometimes it is shortened to just correo. It’s not like they’re asking for your home address since that would be dirección.

Also the use of the English word email (with a Spanish accent) is becoming more common, especially in written Spanish.

Remember that when you are writing a question in Spanish, make sure you put the inverted question mark at the beginning.

So how do you say your e-mail address in Spanish?

First we need to learn the names of the different symbols that are commonly used in e-mails:

@ arroba
. punto
- guión (that’s the dash/hyphen in the middle)
_ guión bajo (that’s the underscore)

Since this blog is a .cl (Dot CL) website (.cl is for Chile), we would pronounce the CL letters individually (Ce Ele)

So you would say our generic e-mail address info @ spanish . cl as:

info arroba Spanish punto Ce Ele

Another example:
ejemplo_2@woodwardchile.com

ejemplo guión bajo dos arroba woodward chile punto com

I hope this helps.
